In order to streamline and expedite the process of Public Health Clearance for transporting human remains to India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has developed an e-Clearance for Afterlife Remains (eCARE) portal. 2. The Portal is aimed at integrating all stakeholders on a single all-in-one interface, including the Consginee, Airport Health Organizations (APHOs) and Airlines. The portal facilitates smooth and timely clearance of documents with automated periodic alerts and live status tracking.
3. The following are authorized to apply for e-Clearance using the portal:
4. Below is the list of mandatory and non-mandatory documents required for submitting an application:
Mandatory documents: Embalming Certificate; Death Certificate; NOC from Indian Embassy; Cancelled passport of the deceased.
Non-mandatory documents: Certificate of packaging of Human remains as per WHO guidelines; Certificate of non-infectious disease provided by health auhtority; Transit/burial permit. The concerned authorities may ask for these non-mandatory documents while approving the application as per the need.

Note:
The deceased person’s passport must not be used for new user id creation as it will not allow that passport number to be submitted as application for transport as human remains. It should also be noted that the name of the deceased person cannot be used as name of applicant or consignee.
