Foreign nationals travelling to India for conference purpose are required to obtain a Conference Visa. The validity of visa will begin on the day of issue, not on the day of travel.
• General document requirements:

Passport with at least six months’ validity at the time of travel and at least two blank pages (please note that visa can only be issued till the date of expiry of passport)
One recent colour photo pasted on the application form (size 5 x 5 cm, white background, front view) More detailed photo requirements here.
Other than Finnish nationals: A copy of a valid residence permit or some other document confirming the period of stay of the applicant in Finland.
Personal invitation from the conference organizers.
No objection certificates/clearance issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to the conference organizers.
Biometric enrolment is mandatory. The applicant has to visit the Embassy for biometric enrolment on the day given by the Embassy.
Do not pay the visa fee beforehand.
Note: Guarantee letter and personal invitation letter are required even if the two companies belong to the same corporation.
