India-Finland Dialogue on Arctic Issues.
The dialogue brought together parliamentarians, government officials, academics, and experts to strengthen existing cooperation and explore future India–Finland collaboration in the Arctic.
Ms. Pooja Kapur, Additional Secretary (Northern Europe), MEA, led the Indian delegation and delivered the keynote address, highlighting the interlinkages between the Himalayan and Arctic ecosystems, India’s Arctic initiatives, and the scope for enhanced bilateral cooperation.
Mr. Jari Sinkari, Director General, Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, delivered the welcome remarks. Ambassador of India to Finland, Mr. Hemant H. Kotalwar, highlighted Finland’s contribution to India’s first Antarctic research station, Dakshin Gangotri (1983), marking India’s entry into polar research
