Passports for new-borns

To obtain an Indian Passport for a new-born child, it is essential to register the birth of the  child with Embassy within 06 months. 

Please note: At least one parent with passport of parent(s) has to be present physically at the Embassy while applying for an Indian passport for a new-born child.

Step 1

  • Visit Indian Citizenship Portal
  • Click on Online services.
  • Click on Section 4 – Acquisition of Indian Citizenship by Descent
  • Click on Initiate application for filling fresh application
  • Upload signatures of parent(s)
  • Print the form
  •  

    Step 2

  • Apply online for a fresh passport: Passport Seva Portal
  • Upload child’s Photo- Guidelines for Photo
  • Upload child’s thumb impression (clear and within the box) - Guidelines for Signature
  • Please provide: One address in India and One address in Finland.
  •  

    Step 3

  • Apply for Certificate of Registration of Birth on e-Sewa portal Indian Consular Services Portal and upload all the mandatory documents.
  • Once the application has been scrutinized by the embassy, please make the payment: Embassy of India Helsinki – Consular Fees

     

    Step 4

    Visit the Embassy with the following documents:

    • Printed online application form of Step 1
    • Printed online passport application form (with signature of parent(s) on Last Page) - Step 2
    • Printed online application form of Step 3 Above
    • 01 color photos (35×45 mm, white background).
    • Self-attested copies of parent(s) passport (first & last page)
    • Self-attested copies of parent(s) residence permit (both sides)
    • Duly filled Annexure 'D' or Annexure ‘C whichever is applicable
    • Child’s Birth record / DVV Population Extract
    • Proof of Indian address, if the address is different from parent(s) passport
    • Self-attested copy of Marriage Certificate
    • Printed Payment receipt (Bank transfer only)

     

      ⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE       

    • Incomplete applications will not be processed.
    • No prior appointment is required for consular services. Applicants may visit the Embassy with requisite documents on any working day(List of Holidays)during the following hours:                                                                        

               - Submission Hours: 09:00 – 12:00 hrs
