Emergency Travel Document

Emergency Certificate(EC)

 

An Emergency Certificate is a one-way travel document which authorizes an Indian national to enter India. It is issued to those whose passport has been lost, stolen or damaged and to whom a new passport cannot be issued immediately. This service is primarily extended with the objective of ensuring a transit passenger´s return to India.

You may apply for this service in case:

1. You are an India national on a Tourist/Schengen visa visiting Finland and your passport is lost / damaged

2. If for any reasons, you want to travel to India on emergency basis and your current passport cannot be used for reasons of expired validity/damaged/lost.
Instructions:

Step 1

  •  Apply online at: Passport Seva Portal
  • While filling the form:
  •  Provide 02 addresses: one in India and one in Finland
  • Upload photo and signature as per the official guidelines:

Step 2

Make online payment for the applicable service: Embassy of India Helsinki – Consular Fees-click here

Step 3

Visit the Embassy between 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM on working days with the following:.

  • Printed online application form (with ink signature on Last Page)
  • 02 color photos (35×45 mm, white background).
  • Copy of police report in case of lost/stolen/misplaced (The police report must have name of the applicant (s) and a reference of loss of passport)
  • Self-attested copies of passport (first & last page)
  • Self-attested copies of residence permit (both sides) /VISA
  • Copy of journey tickets(flight tickets) to India
  • Self Declaration/ Undertaking-Reason for applying Emergency Certificate
  • Printed Payment receipt (Bank transfer only)

      ⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE       

    • Incomplete applications will not be processed.
    • No prior appointment is required for consular services. Applicants may visit the Embassy with requisite documents on any working day(List of Holidays)during the following hours:                                                                        

               - Submission Hours: 09:00 – 12:00 hrs          
               - Collection Hours: 15:00 – 16:30 hrs
