‘India Business and Professionals Forum’ in Finland has been created as a networking platform for Indian and Indian-origin professionals and entrepreneurs in Finland, working in an Indian/Foreign company or self-employed.
The Forum is not intended to be a registered Society but a loose body managed by the Embassy and to be chaired by the Ambassador. It is open to all Indian and Indian-origin professionals and entrepreneurs who believe in the objective of the Forum. While the Forum is open to those fulfilling the above criteria, there is a smaller group of Executive Committee members (around 20) from different backgrounds for brainstorming and decision-making. The formal launch of the Forum and first interactive meeting of IBPF was held on the 25th of October 2021. The meeting was chaired by Ambassador Raveesh Kumar andjoined by Mika Lintilä, Minister of Employment and Economy, Petri Peltonen, Under-Secretary of State and Nina Alatalo, Adviser to the Minister of Economic Affairs. Seven interactions have been held with Speaker of the Parliament of Finland Mr Matti Taneli Vanhanen, Minister of Employment of Finland Ms.Tuula Haatainen, Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Mr Ville Skinnari, Mayor of Helsinki Mr Juhana Vartiainen, Mayor of Vantaa Ms Ritva Viljanen and Senior Editor-in-Chief of Kauppalehti Mr Arno Ahosniemi.The annual reception of IBPF was held on 6th September 2022 with Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Mr Ville Skinnari.
